Monica Salazar
Monica Salazar Tituaña is a South America Native and Visual Artist. She has resided in the Lehigh Valley for more than fifteen years. Salazar graduated from Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a BFA in Visual Studies. Additionally she studied Castilian Language at Universidad Central del Ecuador. Salazar is also a polyglot and attempts to incorporate languages in her own work and daily life. She has been part of the Alternative Gallery, a collective that focuses on cultivating and preserving art and culture, in Allentown for more than six years. She is also a Rostered Teaching Artist at the Banana Factory/ArtsQuest in Bethlehem for over four years as well as the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts. Salazar has created and taught in several artist residency programs. Salazar has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults from a very early age having begun tutoring in her early adulthood. While attending college she also worked briefly in theater and pantomime. Developing workshops and working with various local communities on differing visual art projects is her current passion. She has created works varying in size from very small to large scale.
